November 30, 2016 by Molly Barritt Leave a Comment

Volunteers Needed for December Kelly Creek Preserve Work Day!

We need your help to cut and burn box elders and buckthorn, treat stumps with herbicide and clean up the area at the spring at our Kelly Creek Preserve. We will try again to burn the old brush pile north of the spring (assuming we have snow on the ground).

Date: Saturday, December 10, 2016
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (brats and buns will be provided for lunch)
Location: Kelly Creek Preserve
Lead by: Dan Wilcox, Kelly Creek Preserve Steward

Please RSVP by emailing dave@kinniriver.org and include your name, email and phone in case the event is rescheduled.

Wear warm, fire-resistant, old clothes.

Bring:
– heavy gloves or mittens
– boots
– water to drink
– chain saw with safety gear (if possible)

The Preserve is located on County Road J in the Town of Kinnickinnic, St. Croix County. Access is from a shared private drive off of CTH J, approximately 1/4 mile east of the bridge over the Kinnickinnic River. We will park along the road by the parking area and walk in.

If you have any questions, please call  715-425-5738.
