Clarke A. Chambers June 3, 1921 – July 28, 2015

During this week of giving thanks with family, the Kinnickinnic River Land Trust (KRLT) remembers with gratitude the lasting gifts of Clarke A. Chambers to the community and to the Kinni River. Clarke, together with his wife Florence and their son Robert, donated the first easement to the land trust in 1995. The Chambers’ easement also granted to the public the permanent right to walk on the riverbank of their property, which set a precedent for protection and public benefit. All Kinni river-front conservation easements since this first one have also granted public walking rights.
Clarke passed away earlier this year after a distinguished career on the University of Minnesota faculty. We are thankful for his modern pioneering spirit and stewardship of his piece of the Kinni canyon. To see Clarke’s obituary, please click on the following link: Obituary.
