Lace up your running shoes and support the conservation of western Wisconsin's treasured waterways at the Run the River 5k/Walk & Kids Fun Run, presented by the Kinnickinnic River Land Trust (KRLT). This community event brings people together not only to celebrate healthy living and the outdoors, but to protect the future of the Kinnickinnic River watershed. All ages and abilities welcome! The 5k race is chip timed.

When: July 11th, 2026

Location: Glen Park in River Falls, WI

Times:

9:00 am - 5K Run/Walk

10:15 am - 5K Awards (Top 3 finishers, male and female in each age category)

10:30 am - Kids Fun Run

Packet pickup is Friday, July 10th from 3pm-7pm at Glen Park and from 8-8:45am before the race on Saturday, July 11th.

Kids Fun Run

Our Kids Fun Run encourages the next generation of conservationists to get outside, stay active, and build a connection with nature.

Community & Conservation Celebration

After the race, stay and connect with fellow KRLT supporters, enjoy refreshments, and learn more about how KRLT is preserving critical habitat, improving water quality, and safeguarding public access throughout the watershed.

FAQ

Dogs

Dogs are allowed at Glen Park, but we are not allowed to participate on the race course.

Strollers

Yes, strollers are welcome during the race. Be make sure to be respectful of the other runners.

Timing

Run the River will be chip timed.

Parking

Limited parking is available at Glen Park. Participants are encouraged to get to the course early and park in the UWRF lot at Johnson Hall, located a 3 minute walk from Glen park at 62 E Cascade Ave. Ample signage will be present directing participants where parking is available.

T-Shirt Information

Registrations received after June 29 are not guaranteed a race t-shirt. Any remaining shirts will be distributed during packet pickup on a first-come, first-served basis, and sizes will be available while supplies last. If additional shirts are ordered, registrants will be notified with pickup details following the event.

This is a rain or shine event. In the event that the race is cancelled there will be no refunds.
